So you want to know where to find a nice guy, eh? Well, this is no simple task. Niceguys have survived by remaining relatively unseen. They occasionally surface for food and supplies, but they mainly keep to themselves due to their 'loner' nature. For the purpose of research, several dozen private detectives were retained to scour the globe in search of the most common and/or popular places to find Niceguys. After an exhaustive 2 year campaign, we have compiled the following list of places, in no particular order. Also included is a list of places where Niceguys were seldom found. Their nature tends to keep them away from certain places, and anyone seeking Niceguys is well advised to avoid these areas.
Niceguys are often found in groups at local bars. This may seem counterintuitive, but Niceguys do enjoy a drink and some pleasant conversation at times.
Niceguys in bars are never found on the dance floor. Niceguys, as a general rule, have no rhythm.
Niceguys often live in apartments or rent houses. This is because Niceguys are generally single and find the idea of home ownership somewhat daunting.
Niceguys, because of their apartment abodes, spend time on weekends in laundromats. The Niceguy seeker should be warned however that approaching a Niceguy outside his natural habitat can be dangerous. Niceguys have been known to appear rude and/or short when cornered.
Niceguys can occasionally be spotted in grocery stores. The Niceguy seeker must be diligent and persistent because Niceguys usually shop very quickly and do not stay in the store for very long. This is due to their strong distaste for crowds and lines.
Niceguys generally avoid most types of organized social activities. They usually do not belong to clubs or groups because they prefer to keep their schedule as open as possible. Niceguys do not like to be on a timetable. They prefer to let life come along at whatever speed it deems necessary.
Niceguys often do belong to a local gym or health club. Niceguys are very concerned with issues such as cholesterol, and keeping fit, but they do not take it to such extremes that they become muscle-bound and thus unable to effectively integrate into society as a whole. Niceguys can also be found running on the side of the road or perhaps in a local park or recreation area.
Niceguys are never found in whatever establishment is 'in' on any given day. For example, it is very unlikely that you would find a Niceguy today in a coffee shop, bookstore, tattoo parlor, or multiplex movie theater. The extreme popularity of these places today has attracted an overwhelming number of JerkGuys, and since Niceguys and JerkGuys are natural enemies, you will rarely see them together in nature.
The above are some of the more common areas to find or not find Niceguys. Our investigation has shown however that the number of Niceguy locales is as varied as the number of Niceguys. The one common thread which seems to have come from our study is that Niceguys are most often found when one isn't actually looking for them. This is probably related to the peripheral vision phenomena discussed in the Characteristics section of this page. Therefore, it is recommended that if one would like to find a Niceguy, one should not look for a Niceguy. This will most likely lead to a Niceguy finding you. As a final warning though, due to the density of some Niceguys, it may be necessary to tell the Niceguy that you are looking for one. If this is not done, the Niceguy may think he has come to the wrong place and will quickly wander off so as not to disturb you.
