Planning Unit E

A Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU) is a City of Atlanta chartered organization responsible for reviewing and recommending approval or denial on City of Atlanta rezoning applications, special use permits, special administrative permits, sub-division plans to the City of Atlanta official review boards and City Council.
NPU Overview
- The NPU consists of a board represented by a resident of each neighborhood within the specfic NPU.
NPU E includes Midtown as well as the following neighborhoods: Ansley Park, Brookwood, Brookwood Hills, Bellwood, Georgia Tech, Home Park, and Loring Heights.
- All projects must be reviewed by the offical neighborhood association before going to the NPU.

- An NPU meets once a month (see info. at right >>) throughout the year to review applications and discuss projects or problems within the NPU.
- Each NPU is staffed by one City of Atlanta, Bureau of Planning employee (usually a senior level city planner).
- Some of the City of Atlanta Departments (i.e. police, fire, public works)
have representatives that attend NPU meetings.
- The NPU meeting serves as a forum for residents to discuss upcoming events,
City services and plans or development projects.
