Pierce Dant Hamblin:  b. Mar 24, 1756. in Worcester Co., MD.
He enlisted in the 4th Virginia Regiment, Continental Line, Mar 9, 1776.
He fought in several important engagements, including Trenton,
Princton, Germantown, and Brandywine.
He also wintered at Valley Forge in 1777-78.
He was honorable discharged 9 Mar 1778.
He migrated to Kentucky in the early 1800s, Whitley County.
The VFW hall in Williamsburg is named after him.
